British Airways will equip its 4,000 pilots iPads an application allowing visitors to leave the cockpit with a custom photo - but only before takeoff or after landing.
In its press release of 26 July 2016, the British national company explains that the app "View from the flight deck" will be installed in all iPads to its pilots from the beginning of next month. The photo, taken at the stop at the airport, visitors to the cockpit will be automatically sent to them, decorated with a graph depicting the flight, the name of the captain, taking route and distance - not to mention the type of operated aircraft and its registration, plus her picture. British Airways passengers are of course invited to share them on social networks with the hashtag #BAUpClose.
The commander Charlie Maunder, head of flight operations at British Airways, said that as a pilot, "we like to fly and share this with everyone. Accordingly, we also like welcome guests in the cockpit whenever possible. " The actress Denise van Outen prefer to speak of a "great way to create another fun memories of our vacation, different pictures usually taken on a journey - and it beats the magnetic image on the refrigerator door."
